LUCKNOW: The guard at Bahujan Samaj Party MLC's under-construction house, whose body was found near railway tracks in Hardoi district, was a close relative of the MLC.
The deceased -- Vijay Kumar (30) -- was cousin of Dharmendra Pradhan's wife. Dharmendra is brother of BSP MLC Ram Chander Pradhan and is chairman of zila panchayat. Vijay was working at Pradhan's under-construction house 2/50, Vishal Khand, Gomtinagar, for the past one year.
Senior police officials though did confirm that Vijay, son of Ramadhar and a resident of Gosainganj police station area, was related to the MLC's brother, but requested not to be quoted.

Vijay went missing from the under-construction house on March 25 in mysterious circumstances. His body was later spotted by a railway gangman at around 7am on Saturday a few metres away from a manned crossing near Kohra railway station in Hardoi. The gangman then informed the station master, who subsequently informed the police. The body was found lying between up and down railway tracks.
The post-mortem report which was received on Sunday stated anti-mortem injuries (head injuries) as the cause of death, said Hardoi SP Luv Kumar, while talking to TOI. Prima facie it looks that Vijay died after falling from the train.
However, it still remains a matter of investigation that whether Vijay had fallen from the train or was pushed? It calls for proper investigation all the more since the Gomtinagar police has found a bunch of broken hair probably of Vijay from the MLC's house where he was residing. The police have now decided to sent the hair for DNA sampling.

What had raised further doubts was the fact that even though a Lucknow-Kanpur ticket (booked at 2.54 am on Friday) was found in Vijay's pocket, the body was recovered in Hardoi.
Now, the question arises why and how did Vijay reached Hardoi while the ticket found in his pocket was from Lucknow to Kanpur?
The police were also probing into the allegations made by Vijay's wife Umesh Kumari, said SP (trans-Gomti) Nitin Tiwari and added that interrogation with one of the persons as tipped off by Vijay's wife who worked as a labourer was going on while the other person who looked after the accounts of the construction was still not in police net.
About the basis of allegation, the police said, Vijay had raised apprehension about the deeds of at least one person while talking to his wife on Friday night just before he went missing.
